Pyxis ES platform to be featured at ASHP 2013, CareFusion booth 1949

Hospitals across the country have adopted the Pyxis ES platform to help simplify and standardize their medication management process.

The Pyxis ES platform is a combination of hardware and software that gives hospitals of any size centralized control of their medication dispensing technologies. Centralized management of medication dispensing systems helps standardize and maintain medication management practices and policies within a single site or across multiple hospitals and clinics. Enabling common practices built on a common formulary helps improve medication safety.

"More than 50 customers have chosen the web-based Pyxis ES platform as their solution to address medication management across their hospital or health system," said Rusty Frantz, senior vice president and general manager of Dispensing for CareFusion. "The ability to have centralized management and reporting across a facility or entire health system helps customers establish consistent and efficient medication management processes."

Introducing the CareFusion SmartWorks™ platform

That's a wrap!

We’re excited to announce the CareFusion SmartWorks™ platform to our customers!

At CareFusion, we recognize the significance in shifting care models from fee-for-service to population health management. To support you in this shift, we’re introducing the CareFusion SmartWorks platform—a new medication management approach.

The CareFusion SmartWorks platform is an enterprise-wide platform that brings together technologies and Health Information Technology (HIT) systems, providing:

The solution helps hospitals and health systems simplify clinical tasks and standardize processes, technologies and medication management systems.

Be on the lookout at ASHP, as we reveal the CareFusion SmartWorks platform advantage. Learn more.

Thank you for attending ASHP

We hope you had time to visit the CareFusion booths and learn about our CareFusion SmartWorks™ platform! The enterprise-wide CareFusion SmartWorks platform helps hospitals and health systems standardize and simplify their clinical workflows and CareFusion technologies.

An exciting component of the platform and an addition to the Pyxis® family is the Pyxis IV system, which provides a more efficient process for compounding IVs utilizing Pharmogistics® software. We also highlighted Alaris® interoperability with EHR systems, which enables infusion pumps to receive medication orders directly from the EHR and pre-populate infusion parameters. And we discussed the Chemo Safety System, which helps protect healthcare personnel and patients from exposure to hazardous drug vapor, spillage, spraying or surface contamination during drug reconstitution, transport and administration.

Back again this year, the second annual Clinical Excellence Grant Program was launched—a $500,000 competitive grants program that will fund select research projects and programs focused on improving medication safety and efficiency.

We also brought an exciting speaker lineup to the 5th annual Insider customer event, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. We look forward to seeing you next year.
