CUBIE^® system from CareFusion helps nursing and pharmacy get the right medication to the right patient at the right time. Supporting the rapid initiation of medication orders via Pyxis MedStation^® system and Pyxis SpecialtyStation^® system, the modular CUBIE system helps hospitals reduce the risk of medication errors, diversion and time-consuming non-value activities.

Facilitating medication safety and efficiency
By restricting access to only one medication at a time during the removal process, CUBIE system helps reduce the risk of nurses selecting a medication from the wrong pocket. The ability for customers to reconfigure or exchange pockets in the drawer supports ever-changing inventory needs due to drug shortages, formulary adjustments or packaging changes.

Increasing storage capacity with full-height CUBIE pockets
New to Pyxis MedStation 4000 system and Pyxis MedStation ES system, full-height CUBIE pockets leverage the same demonstrated benefits of half-height CUBIE pockets, while adding capacity to securely store larger medications such as pre-filled syringes, vials and IV bags. With room for more line items and doses using full-height CUBIE pockets versus other drawer types, and a variety of pocket sizes to choose from, customers can easily configure their system to dynamically manage medication inventory.

Verifying medication transport using CUBIE replenishment system
CUBIE replenishment system supports The Joint Commission standards that require a pharmacist to review all medication orders before dispensing. The system helps improve medication safety and workflow efficiency by enabling CUBIE pockets* to be filled, checked and programmed with medication data in the pharmacy. The programmed pockets and drawers are then securely delivered to Pyxis MedStation system or Pyxis SpecialtyStation system, where they communicate the new medications to the system.
