  • 1 applicator with urethane sponge, with Prevail antimicrobial gel (59 mL)

  1. Grasp bottle with one hand, and applicator neck with other hand. Make sure applicator is pointing up.
  2. Slowly twist applicator neck in direction of arrow until it stops.
  3. Push applicator into bottle to activate.
  4. Invert and squeeze bottle to dispense solution.
  5. When applicable, press cotton-tipped swab securely against impregnated applicator head to wet, and then clean umbilicus.
  6. Apply thin, even coat to operative site, without blotting. Note: If applying solution to tight area (e.g., neck, skin folds), insert prep towels underneath area to absorb excess solution.
  7. Remove excess solution with towels or gauze.
  8. Discard prep materials, including soaked materials
  9. Wait two to three minutes until solution is dry before draping or using ignition sources.
  10. Remove solution with high pH-level soap and water.

  • 1 urethane sponge with one-step povidone-iodine/isopropyl alcohol solution (40 mL)
  • 2 swabs, cotton-tipped
